Mark Bradford: Keep Walking

Shortly after working with Mark Bradford on his Avant Arte collaboration in April 2025, I was approached by his team about interviewing him again in June. This time, for the monograph for Keep Walking at Amorepacific Museum of Art (Seoul, August 2025 – January 2026). The expansive survey was his first solo exhibition in Korea and featured a new site specific installation, Here Comes the Hurricane (2025).
Our conversation, Acts of God (excerpts below) moved fluidly from reflections on Black queer life and 80s beauty standards, to histories of empire and natural disasters.
Following the interview, Mark invited me to join his team for the opening programme during Frieze Seoul (September 2025). There, I co-hosted exhibition walkthroughs alongside Mark and curator Sarah Yoon for the press and VIPs because, as Mark puts it in our interview, “I love the way you put my scatter-shot abstract way of talking together.”
